SUMMARY:NSRA Youth Proficiency Scheme
DESCRIPTION:Sheaf district are excited to be running sessions of Air Rifle training giving the Scouts of Sheaf an opportunity to earn their NSRA YPS award! This is a nationally recognised award to show that the young person is able to use an air rifle safely and responsibly\, knows the law around the use of firearms and also improve their skill behind an Air Rifle. The qualification earnt also automatically makes you eligible for the Master at arms scout badge\, which will be presented at the end of the course. The sessions will run from 9.30 – 1 on each day with an additional session 2-5.30 should there be demand – you will be notified if you are on the morning or the afternoon session prior to the event\, please let me know if one is preferable. \nThis course is aimed at the scout section\, but we are looking to put on a similar course for the cub section at a later date. \nThe cost of the course is £40 per person. \nTo book\, please visit https://woodseatsscouts.co.uk/store/district-scout-nsra-youth-proficiency-scheme/

DESCRIPTION:Two separate events aimed at all Cubs and Scouts of Sheaf District.  It’s Cubs in week 1 and then Scouts in week 2. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nNow in it’s 10th year\, the 2023 Santa Splash events are a tinsel-tastic hour of pool activities encouraging teamwork and fun. Participants will enjoy Christmas themed games whilst earning points; with the winning teams earning coveted gold medals\, presented by a wise man at the end. \n\n\n\n\n\nPool time is from 19:00 to 20:00 hrs\, but participants need to arrive by 18:30 to receive the briefing and be placed in teams.   \n\n\n\n… and best of all\, in the spirit of giving\, there is no charge\, the event being fully funded by Sheaf Scout Swimming. \n\n\n\nDue to restrictions on headcount\, we can accommodate up to six swimmers per group.  Depending on how many groups enter teams\, we may be able to add more – we’ll let you know.  \n\n\n\n\n\nWe will make up teams to keep the numbers per team as even as possible\, so if you do not have six swimmers do not worry.  We always try to keep Group teams together and may add additional members from other Groups. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nGoggles are permitted but may be barred in specific events for safety reasons\n\n\n\n\n\n Qualified Lifeguard cover will be in place throughout the event\n\n\n\n\nIMPORTANT: Entrants must be confident swimmers.  We utilise all of the pool so the entrants must be confident to swim/tread water in the deep end\, where they can’t touch the bottom.  If we judge anyone’s swimming abilities to be too weak we reserve the right to limit them to activities within their depth. \n\n\n\nPlease can each section attending complete THIS FORM form with participant details and return to Barrie by Saturday 2nd December.  Email strongly preferred.  We cannot accept ‘on the day’ entries. \n\n\n\nTo find out more contact chief elf Barrie Hocking at barrie.hocking@virgin.net or 0114 274 5557. \n\n\n\nPS: Where does Santa swim?  The North pool!

DESCRIPTION:The event will see the Cub Packs from across the District compete in a series of challenges for the title of Rikki Shield Winners 2024. \n\n\n\nWe still have some spaces left so please get in touch before Wednesday 12th June if you’re not already signed up! \n\n\n\nThe competition is for a team of 6 Cubs of mixed ages and although we have suggested that only one team per pack can enter it may be that\, if there is not a high demand\, then we can allow more than one team.
